Foggy Bottom Kitchen

First time to eat here for lunch. Parking is past the front door of the lodge with some parking nearly at the front door. There are two entrances on both sides of the restaurant facing the lake. There was also outside seating but during lunch it's in the sun so too hot, but I could see it being really nice in the evening. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, but the menu is not very big. They also have a kid's menu. I heard someone ask if they had a bar, and the waitress said they didn't have their license yet but not sure if that's going to be in a separate location or what. It's not a big restaurant so don't know where they would put one. We got the zucchini chips appetizer with ranch and honey mustard dipping sauces. It was delicious! I got the fried chicken tenders with gravy, okra and mashed potatoes and gravy. The breading was sweet which wasn't to my liking, and the potatoes tasted funky but the okra was good. My husband got the Belle burger which was huge, and he said it was delicious. All in all, we will be back to try something else next time. It's really nice to see all the improvements they've made at the lodge and to have a restaurant that looks like it's going to be a success. It's also a unique experience looking out at the lake and watching the boaters go by as you eat (not a TV in sight, very nice). They also had a dock for parking your boat so you could eat while on the lake.

What a gem! I would go out of my way to enjoy this place. It’s located in a state park so I did not know what to expect. The scenery is amazing. They have indoor and outdoor dining with great views. It’s clean, and friendly. But aside from all that, the food was incredible! Everything and I mean everything tasted GREAT. Low prices and great food, what a combination. You will love this place and it’s worth the detour from 35N. Huckleberry ice cream is a must. It’s one of the best things I have tasted in a long time.

Come for the apple fritters, stay for the veiw!! And, yes, the great food. Enjoyed the potato skins and fried zucchini chips. They are delicious! Finished with fried blackberry pies! The apple fritters are complimentary! The staff is top notch- Kayla took very good care of my husband and I. She was very quick to help find seating inside when it got to chilly to stay out side. We will be back!

Very good food at reasonable price, we love sitting on the deck that over looks Lake Murray. Our only disappointing thing was that they do not serve breakfast all day long. The menu looked very appetizing and I would have ordered breakfast if it was available.

This is located next to the lodge, within the old Blue Heron, same great lakeside view. It’s been remodeled beautifully to fit their theme. Plenty of seating inside and outside overlook the beautiful lake. Prices are what to be expected since your dining in the lake, it’s the same at other restaurants on other lakes. Wife and I was seated promptly and greeted by our server. Wife had the Winchester burger, big thick juicy patty on fresh hot bun served with sweet potato fries; could’ve been more of those. I went with the Campfire Hobo dinner, man O’man that was something. I could’ve had two of those, so Delicious and I had to fight my wife off with my my fork like we were both gladiators sparing over a last meal, lol. Highly highly recommend trying the Campfire Hobo dinner.

Worth the wait! Definitely get a table outside in the evening. The atmosphere is wonderful. Food is good the wait staff where pleasant but be aware they are in lake time so do not get in a hurry. Extra bonus: order a drink (or two) while waiting to be seated.

Great place to sit outside and enjoy beautiful views of Lake Murray while enjoying some great food. I had the Winchester Burger which was a hand formed half pound angus beef patty served with white cheddar and apple bacon jam and arugula with Worcestershire sauce on a brioche bun. It was absolutely delicious. I chose their homemade kettle chips as my side which complimented the burger quite well. While we were waiting on our food we were served two complimentary hot apple fritters dusted with powdered sugar, what a nice delightful touch. I could have eaten four or five of those! This place is a must try if you’re ever in the area!

This restaurant is very clean and the service is fantastic. The food is fresh and delicious. They are open all day on New years which is convenient for us as we are staying at the cabins at the State Park. The view is amazing of Lake Murray.
